Recently, at NELS, we had our New Year Party. It was a pot luck party, which means that everyone brought a dish to share. I made a special dish from the UK which is often eaten at Christmas. Have a look at the photo and see if you can guess what the name of the dish is. Let me know!
I also made mulled wine which is again traditionally drunk at Christmas in the UK. It’shot red wine to which you add brown sugar and spices – perfect for the cold winter here in Sapporo!
I brought back some Christmas crackers from the UK too which everybody enjoyed pulling:
We also enjoyed taking part in a quiz, learning how to say ‘Happy New Year’ in lots of different languages.
